We wanted our application to teach users how to embroider, make embroidering fun and modern, and curate interesting compositions.
We wanted to use NFC sensors or QR codes to alert the user about our embroidery application for the Georgia Girlhood Embroidery exhibit, which would teach users how to perform certain embroidery stitches within the app, including the level of difficulty for each stitch. Also, within the app, users would be informed of the closest store where the necessary yarn was sold.
Taylor is sophomore family and consumer sciences major at UGA. Her grandmother taught her how to knit when she was 13. She loved knitting, and eventually taught herself how to crochet by using Online tutorials. She has no experience with hand embroidering, but she wants to expand her knowledge of needle working. Taylor is at the exhibit as a part of her woman’s studies class.
